Rolling in to week 2 of the One Room Challenge, and I’m excited to share that some of the accessories for the office/guest bedroom have already arrived! And they’re even better in person than they were online! If you’re just now tuning in, be sure to check out the design plan for the space.

I’m also happy that I finished building the porch swing that will hang just outside these doors. All I need to do is paint it, and then it’ll be ready to hang! Can’t wait!
When designing a space, I normally start with an inspiration piece like a piece of art, fabric, wallpaper or a rug. And the paint color is usually the very last decision I make. But in this case, I fell in head over heels in love with this paint color, Sherwin Williams Tradd Street Green, and started from there.
So glad to have these beautiful pieces by Laurel Dawn. They are going to be perfect on the green walls, and I love that the pops of orangey-coral in them complement this vintage horse print that hung in my husband’s office nook at our last house.

I love that these pieces not only fit the color palette for this space, but they also tell a story, speaking to the landscape of the area where we live and my husband’s love of mid century modern design.

The desk chair also arrived this week! My husband loves how comfy it is, and I love how sleek it looks!

And last but not least, this gorgeous zebra print hide arrived yesterday. And I’m in mega LOVE!

This week I’ll be doing some furniture painting! And I can’t wait to share more next week!
Thank you to Linda, from Calling it Home, for organizing this design challenge. And thanks also to the media sponsor, Better Homes and Gardens. Be sure to check out the updates from all the other One Room Challenge participants!
Those art pieces are just stunning and are going to look awesome against the green backdrop
